DESKTOP MINI-AQUAPONICS SYSTEM STARTING TO SHOW ENCOURAGING RESULTS

After months of development and testing, the desktop mini aquaponics system is now here.

We've had numerous requests from customers for a small desktop system, so we decided to develop a working unit (NOT A TOY) that can actually be used to grow microgreens, vegetables, herbs and fruits.

Our first unit had a heavy steel plant grow box, which made it difficult to feed the fish and service the fish tank. Nevertheless it gave us some good results. Below a few seeds that started sprouting directly on the hydroball grow media.

The above was planted in the middle of winter, and took its time to grow...fast track to a few weeks back as the summer sunlight and warmth started coming through and whala !!  The plants came alive, especially the carrots and basil.

In the photo above, you will see some dried up onions in the forefront, the sun proved too hot for them. I'm leaving them on the grow media to see what happens over time.

The nutrients in the above system is being generated by 6 baby tilapia Rendalli, ranging in size from 20mm to 40 mm.

Based on our trials and tribulations with the above system, we've come up with the latest, more streamlined unit below.

This system is supplied with everything you need to get started with Aquaponics from the comfort of your home or office.. Also a great classroom masterpiece.

The system is 48 cm wide x 24 cm deep x 42 cm high (with plant grow box.

The fish tank is 25 litres.
